Photography – Looking for the Beauty in Life
Photography is the number one hobby in many countries. Digital cameras, computers and the Internet are now changing the way we create and use images.

Digital images are easily retouched, copied onto a CD, sent though email and posted on a website portfolio. The Associated Press photographers who are working in far off locations actually send digital photos to their news editors through mobile phones via satellite connection.

My own writing and photography background began in publicity work. I would take photos and write news releases for clients of all kinds. My work appeared in publications such as National Geographic magazine, Readers Digest and The Wall Street Journal to name a few. Later I went on to do nature photography and modeling photography and some travel photography too.
I believe photographers see more of the beauty and the good in life. They are more observant of life’s little details. They will notice a beautiful flower, a bird, a seashell or a sunset that many other people would pass by without noticing. They pay closer attention and live more in the now, in the moment.
Writers notice more of life’s details too. Hemingway said the true mark of a writer was that he or she were always watching and observing life around them.

Paying attention to moments in each day can help us to have more joy in life. As Oprah Winfrey says, “The more you praise and celebrate life, the more there is in life to celebrate.” Always be looking for the good in the world and you will find more photo opportunities and writing ideas, and more to enjoy in every day.
